Access Permissions

Your mobile phone operating system may ask, or even block you from letting messmo access the mobile Internet, or if you are going to send attachments, your phone's file system.

messmo is a signed application and it uses the Thawte root certificate, however your phone may not have the Thawte root certificate. In this case you will need to manually set the permissions. You may also need to set them even if your phone does have a root certificate. So best to check.

How do I set network and file access permissions ?
This is set at the level of the application. You need to locate where messmo is stored or visible on your phone.

Ok, how do I do that ?
On most phones, messmo will be stored in an Applications, Games or Installations folder and you will be able to set the access permissions at this location. However for example the Nokia Series 60 phones require you to go to Tools > Application Manager.

I have found messmo. What do I do ?
Do not open messmo. Instead select Options. You should then see an option called Access or Application Access (or Suite Settings on a Series 60 Nokia). Select this. You then have to look for at least 3 access permissions.

Internet access or Connectivity. Select Never Ask, or if not available Ask First Time, or if not available, Ask Every Time.

Read User Data. Select Never Ask, or if not available Ask First Time, or if not available, Ask Every Time.

Edit User Data. Select Never Ask, or if not available Ask First Time, or if not available, Ask Every Time.

The last two (Read User Data and Edit User Data) are only required if you are going to send attachments.

At messmo we are always interested in your feedback, or information about a particular handset. Please take 30 seconds and give us
feedback.
